------------------------------------ BORG v0.2.20 WinNT/95/98 README FILE ------------------------------------ Content: ======== I) General Information II) Windows NT Setup III) Windows 95/98 Setup ======== I) General Information ----------------------- This readme file contains information about what changes you need to make to your system (only variables settings) so that BORG will be able to start. Make sure that BMRT is properly installed on your system and all BMRT variables are set. For more information about the BMRT installation read the WIN32README.html located in the BMRT documentation. II) Windows NT Setup --------------------- You need to add the following variables to your system enviroment. BORGHOME - set this variable to the directory where you installed the ServerManager. BSERVERHOME - set this variable to the directory where you installed the Server. e.g.: Variable: BORGHOME Value: C:\BORG Variable: BSERVERHOME Value: C:\BORG You may want to add the $BORGHOME\bin and $BSERVERHOME\bin paths to your PATH variable. In order to make the changes work you need to logout/login yourself. III) Windows 95/98 Setup ------------------------ You need to add the following variables to your system enviroment by editing the autoexec.bat. BORGHOME - set this variable to the directory where you installed the ServerManager. BSERVERHOME - set this variable to the directory where you installed the Server. For Win NT compatibility of the startscript you need to set some more stuff. HOMEDRIVE - set this Variable to the drive where you installed BORG. Please don't put a "\" behind the driveletter. HOMEPATH - set this Variable to the directory where you want BORG to save your language, config and other files. e.g.: set BORGHOME=C:\BORG set BSERVERHOME=C:\BORG set HOMEDRIVE=C: set HOMEPATH=\home\borguser You need to set this because Win95/98 has no user management, but BORG expects a user directory. This user directory is simulated by the HOMEDRIVE and HOMEPATH variables. In order to make the changes work you need to restart you computer :-). ----------------------------- Should there be questions, comments or suggestions please contact us at: support@project-borg.org
