features of the alpha version(v0.2.90):

- BORG is a multi platform network rendering software

- graphical manager frontend for easy controll of servers and projects

- the Servermanager manages up to 100 Servers and holds up to 200 projects

- .rib files are stored in projects and automaticly distributed to connected
servers  

- stills of a project are automaticly send to the Servers which render them 

- the outcoming tiff files are automaticly copied back to the Servermanager,
therefore no shared mounts are needed

- Linux, Solaris, IRIX, Win95/98/NT support

- rgl support for preview rendering

- comes with an extensive help system in HTML (in progress)

- multi lingual support by reading language files which are easy to translate

- remote observation of the Servermanager via webbrowser


still to come:

- complete shader management system including distributing and compiling the
shaders 

- network rendering for stills, stills are splitted, rendered on different
Servers and then composed. That's what makes rendering even more efficent.

- X11 version of the Server 

- Server will became multi lingual

- embedding of internal or external tools like image viewer

- extended help system

- bugfixes and things we don't even know about yet
